I always remember this because I thought it was funny how image became such a huge part of the race; the babe JFK accepted the makeup they were putting on him to make him look better on camera and Nixon refused so he looked all gross and unappealing, and polls showed that the public considered JFK the “winner”.

If your excuse for not being involved in politics is “they’re all the same and it’s all lies” you are being willfully ignorant. Have whatever opinion you want, but if you don’t even take it upon yourself to be involved in your government in some way, whether it be for or against it, you can’t blame anyone but yourself for the state it is in. The worst we can do is expect so much from government but at the same time, do for it too little. You’re allowing them to be the “corrupt politicians” you believe they are. Don’t like it? Go do something about it.
